An Arnold Palmer Signature Course at Stonewall Resort
The Palmer Course is Now Open for the Season!
A Letter to You from Our New Director of Golf
From the entire staff of The Palmer Course at Stonewall Resort, welcome to the 2021 golf season! We’re excited to share with you that the course will open for regular play on Thursday, April 1, and that we’re now taking tee times online and by phone 304.269.8885 Our Season Pass Holders will be first on the course, March 29-31. (There’s still time to purchase your 2021 Season Pass!)
This year is one of change for many. The golf team at Stonewall Resort is no exception, as we move in new directions while maintaining all the fun, challenge and beauty of The Palmer Course that you know and have come to expect.
I am Mike Rogers, and I am honored to be the new Director of Golf here at Stonewall Resort’s Palmer Course. I owned and operated Riverbend Golf Club, a 9-hole golf course in Buckhannon, West Virginia, for 14 years, and I come to Stonewall Resort from another resort course here in the Mountain State.
The Director of Golf position at Stonewall Resort’s Palmer Course is one I have wanted since the course opened in 2002, so to say that I am ready to get the season started is a bit of an understatement. I look forward to meeting or reconnecting with our Season Pass holders, and with the all the new and returning resort guests this year. I pledge to you that – short of hitting a straight shot or sinking a match-winning putt for you – my team will do all they can to make your round of golf here the best it can be.
From all indications, I foresee another busy season with golf and all outdoor activities here at Stonewall Resort. I think we all want to get outside and enjoy what life has to offer as we edge closer to what we once knew as “normal.” Playing the Palmer Course has never been more thrilling!
I will be offering a variety of lessons and clinics for all golfers, including beginners, ladies, juniors and seasoned veterans. Some fun leagues, scrambles and golf related events will also dot the calendar this summer, so be sure to check the events board in the golf shop and on the Stonewall Resort website.
We will continue to observe the COVID-19 restrictions in place. We ask that the flagstick remain in the hole while you play. We will not have rakes in the bunkers, or ball washers on the course. With that said, we will monitor the state of COVID throughout the season and make determinations as to whether we can responsibly and safely return these items to the course for your convenience.
We will continue to sanitize our golf carts following each round of golf, so that you can enjoy your round knowing that your golf cart is safe. Some of the 2020 restrictions have been eased. One such change: if players ride to the course together, they may ride on the same golf cart for their round
I am extremely excited to get the season started and want you to know that if you have any questions, comments (both positive and negative) or have a suggestion, please track me down and let me know how we can make your experience better – at Stonewall Resort in general, and The Palmer Course specifically.
I look forward to seeing you many times this summer as you enjoy the 2021 golf season.
