Stonewall Jackson Lake
The excursion boat explores Stonewall Jackson Lake which is 26 miles long with 82 miles of shoreline and covers 2600 acres. The story of lake starts in the 1970s when the West Fork River would regularly rise above its banks and flood the farmland and town located up and down the river. Then in the 1980s, after years of heated debate, north-central West Virginia residents received federal funding to create a lake and dam to control flooding. The result was Lake Stonewall Jackson, the second largest lake in West Virginia.
