Stonewall Resort to Hold "Taste of Spring" Culinary and Outdoor Adventure Weekend |

Weston, W. Va. (April 2011) – Stonewall Resort will offer outdoor adventure and special menu’s featuring local culinary delicacies during the Taste of Spring Weekend, April 20-22, resort officials announced. Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing for the north central West Virginia resort, said, “This event will certainly leave a good taste in your mouth and afford guests the opportunity to enjoy nature in full bloom.” Ludwig said the event will feature culinary demonstrations and special restaurant offerings featuring the Ramp – an Appalachian vegetable with a flavor palate resembling a cross between garlic and an onion. Evening menus featuring local and regional products will be served. The buffets in Stillwaters Restaurant on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, will offer dozens of unique creations which vary by evening. Menu items may include: Cider Braised Ramp and Potato Salad, Potato Gratin with Gruyere Cheese and Roasted Ramps, Asparagus and Ramp Chowder, Grilled Spring Vegetables with a Balsamic Drizzle, Cast Iron Fried Potatoes with Ramps and Peppered Bacon, Hickory Smoked Chicken with Peppers and Pan Seared Ramps, Grilled Pork Cutlets with Ramps and Caramelized Apples, Maple Cider Glazed Salmon, Five Peppercorn Crusted Strip Steak and a variety of unique desserts. Throughout the weekend guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the myriad outdoor adventure offerings at Stonewall Resort. Lake cruises on the 100-passenger excursion boat will be offered at various times daily. The Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course – recently ranked by Golfweek as the second best course in the state – is open and offering special rates to resort guests. Kayaking on the lake or biking and hiking around the resort property provides beautiful views of nature in bloom. Live music will be offered Saturday evening in T.J. Muskies Lounge. A spring herb and tomato planting seminar will be offered Saturday afternoon. The resort Spa will also be available by appointment. The Taste of Spring event package includes overnight lodge accommodations and breakfast in Stillwaters Restaurant the following morning for $109 per night.
