Segway tours, Indoor Climbing Wall, Aqua Cycles just the tip of the iceberg!

Weston, West Virginia (July 2011) – With the recent addition of the Roanoke Activity Plaza at Stonewall Resort, there’s even more to do – and more fun to be had – at West Virginia’s only lakeside Four-Diamond Resort!

“Guests of all ages – from children to grandparents – have even more opportunities for fun and recreation with the addition of the Roanoke Activity Plaza,” said Steve Ludwig, director of sales and marketing at Stonewall Resort.  “Both guests of the Resort and the State Park can enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that perfectly compliment the exceptional boating, fishing, golf and spa activities that folks have come to love.”

Ludwig said the Roanoke Activity Plaza, housed in the Roanoke Building on the State Park Campus, offers something for everyone.  New outdoor activities include: an outdoor theatre and fire pit featuring weekly performances, a nearly half-mile fitness trail complete with ten different exercise stations, a nine-hole Disc Golf course, horseshoe pits, volleyball and basketball courts, aqua cycles for lake cruising, and, a playground. 

The Resort has also added a fleet of six Segway Personal Transporters.  This unique two-wheel, self-balancing electric vehicle will offer guests a novel touring experience around portions of the property.

Indoor, the Center offers an 18-foot climbing wall, a variety of arcade games, including Hoop Shoot, Ski Ball, Bag Toss, and Air Hockey, a Wii Station complete with games and television monitor, and a mini-golf course.  Additionally, the facility features its own snack bar. Ludwig said, “The Roanoke Activity Plaza was created to even further enhance the guest experience at Stonewall Resort.  And, from the feedback we’ve already received, people are truly enjoying it.”
