Celebrate a Full Week of July 4th Activities at Stonewall Resort

Weston, WV (June 11, 2012) – Stonewall Resort has planned a full week of leisure activities for guests to experience during the upcoming Fourth of July celebration.

“With the Fourth of July landing in the middle of the week this year, we decided to celebrate Independence Day the entire week from June 29th to July 8th, and we have a ton of leisure and recreational activities to suit just about anyone’s tastes,” said Mike Hager, general manager of Stonewall Resort.

To provide guests with a weekend opportunity to celebrate the Fourth, Hager said the resort will present two different fireworks displays on both June 30 and July 7th.  The events are open to the public with a $5 park entry fee.  New this year, guests can watch the fireworks from the recently completed pedestrian boardwalk spanning Stonewall Jackson Lake. 

During the day, overnight guests can enjoy cruises on Stonewall Jackson Lake aboard Little Sorrel, the resort’s 75-foot excursion boat.

Hager said, “We’ll also have canoes, kayaks and pontoon boats available for rental which offer a great way to explore the lake or to do some fishing. Or, you may choose to take a Segway tour or just hang out at the pool.”

For the golfers in the family, the Palmer Signature Golf Course, ranked as one of the best golf courses in America, has tee times available throughout the week, but guests should call in advance to make reservations.

“During this week, we are offering a special $100 Stonewall Resort gift card for those staying three consecutive nights or more.  To qualify for the gift card, you must book your three consecutive night stay by June 30,” Hager stressed.
